Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. As part of the grass family, it simply regrows itself from the existing root structure when cut. This makes bamboo a very sustainable and environmentally friendly resource. Moso bamboo is grown for about 5 years without pol­lution. After harvesting, it is carbonized at  a temperature above 1000°C, then undergoes activation, ultrafine grinding, and sieving until the final bamboo charcoal powder with excellent absorption powers is obtained. For centuries the detoxifying powers of bamboo charcoal were highly praised in Asia.
